Selection Process

The selection process will consist of an online test (Preliminary & Main exam) and a test of specified opted local language. Online Preliminary Exam consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections- English language, Numerical ability, and reasoning ability.

Application fees

Candidates belonging to the General/ OBC and EWS category will have to pay 750/- as application fees and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS/DXS category are exempted from payment of fees.

Breaking News: 5 killed in accident at railway crossing

With Delhi undergoing a six-day lockdown and migrant workers queuing up to return their hometowns, the national transporter has announced three more special trains from Delhi to Bihar. These are from Delhi to Darbhanga, Anand Vihar to Sitamarhi and New Delhi to Gaya.While 53 special train services are being run from Northern Railway (Delhi area), 41 special trains are operational from Central Railway and 5 special train services from Western Railway daily to various destinations across the country.Additional trains are already being run during April-May 2021 as summer special trains while 981 passenger train services are also operational. A total of 5,387 suburban train services and 981 passenger train services are also operational.The Railways will continue to run special trains as per the demand on routes and make all efforts to ensure that passengers travel without any inconvenience.Meanwhile, a request letter for transportation of liquid medical oxygen from Rourkela, Bokaro to Bhopal has been given by the Madhya Pradesh government. A second oxygen special train carrying around 7-8 empty tankers to Bokaro and back will start on April 21 from Lucknow with more planned in coming days.

Breaking News: Railway Ministry Announces ₹ 50,000 Award For Employee Who Saved Child

Mumbai: The Ministry of Railways has announced an award of ₹ 50,000 for Mayur Shelke, a Central Railway employee who saved a six-year-old boy by risking his own life.

Mr Shelke’s daredevilry in rescuing the child moments before a train streaked past was captured in a CCTV video which won the Internet.

Principal executive director of the Railway Board informed the Central Railway’s General Manager by a letter about the award for Mr Shelke’s “act of bravery, courage and presence of mind”.

“Shelke in absolute disregard of his own life rescued the child by running in face of the oncoming train and lifted the child to safety by placing him on the platform,” read the letter.

The incident took place at Vangani station near Mumbai, where Shelke is posted as a pointsman, on April 17.

Mr Shelke spotted a boy who had fallen onto the tracks and was in the way of an oncoming train.

 

He jumped down, ran towards the boy and hauled him onto the platform before pulling himself up. Two seconds later, the train sped past.

Breaking News: Due to Covid-19 2.0 Migrant crisis returns! Indian Railways steps up special services

In view of the rapidly growing coronavirus pandemic and migrant crisis, the Railways has stepped up operations of special trains, including mail/express trains, passenger trains and suburban trains, for the convenience of passengers.

At present, the Indian Railways is running 1,512 mail/express and festival specials, on an average per day, up from the 1,490 such services last week.

Railway staff welcomed pointsman who saved a 6-year-old kid Life

If you’re a regular user of the Internet, you may have seen the video which showcases Railway pointsman Mayur Shelke saving a six-year-old boy by risking his own life.

A video of the incident shows Shelke running on the railway tracks to save the boy even with an approaching train a few feet away. Since the video went viral, Shelke earned words of appreciation from many, including Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Adani Group’s Chairman Gautam Adani, and actor R Madhavan.

Indian Railways also took to Twitter to share the video of the incident. While replying to their own tweet, they also posted another video showcasing how staff and DRM of Mumbai Division of Central Railway welcomed the ‘real-life hero’ Mayur Shelke.

Railway Soon Likely to Announce RRB NTPC 7th Phase Exam date Notification

RRB NTPC 7th Phase Exam 2021 Date: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is likely to announce the RRB NTPC exam dates for the seventh phase soon. The sixth phase examination has been completed today. RRBs are conducting the first phase Computer Based Test (CBT) for selection in the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) posts in a number of phases. A total of 1.26 crore candidates have registered for the RRB NTPC exam, which is different from the Indian Railways. The non-technical popular category (NTPC) is being organized to fill 35,208 vacancies, which are various positions including Junior Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trainee Clerk, Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant and Goods Guards. .
